There were a number of different ideas rolling around in my head this week that I wanted to share with you. Instead of bombarding you with so many thoughts, I thought I'd keep them short but thoughtful.
I can't give credit to all of the authors since I don't remember who said everything I'm writing below. However, they are too good not to share. I wish I could say I had the insight to come up with some of these, but at least someone else did and shared their thoughts with the rest of us. All that said, take a few minutes to ponder the following:
If people don't want to participate, want to work on something personal or otherwise:
"If people don't want to come to the ballpark, how are you gonna stop 'em?" - Yogi Berra
If you don't know where you're going or need direction, these are applicable:
"If you don't know where you're going, you won't know when you get there."
"The direction you are currently traveling-relationally, financially, spiritually, and the list goes on and on-will determine where you end up in each respective arenas. Direction-not intention-determines our destination." -Andy Stanley
I like these thoughts about learning and growing:
"Instruct a wise man and guess what? He will be wiser still." -Solomon (Note- a wise man knows he doesn't know it all).
"A company is more likely to die of indigestion from too much opportunity than starvation from too little." -Dave Packard
Finally,
"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive." -Gil Bailie
"A man is never more a man than when he embraces an adventure beyond his control, or when he walks into a battle he isn't sure of winning." -John Eldredge
